Dutch Patrol Boats
(possibly in the Australian Navy)

In these two photos, used with permission from the Australian War Museum (www.awm.gov.au), on the OK from Mary Pollard, this boat, PMB-33, supposedly a former USN PT boat, is armed with the following:

  • Two single .50 caliber machine guns on pedestals on either side of the bridge
  • Two twin .50 caliber machine guns in turrets abaft of the bridge
  • A single 20mm Oerlikon cannon on the stern
  • Twelve Depth Charges in roll off racks
  • A SO Type radar

In this shot (below), gotten from Dave Gregory of the PT Dockyard, you can see another Dutch boat, but this one seems to have two DeWandre turrets as well as provisions for twelve Depth Charges in roll off racks and two on the Y-Gun.

This boat is similar in lay-out to the Elco seventy-seven foot PTC Sub-Chasers based on the PT-20 Class PT hulls.
